Research

My research interest are focused on water-rock interaction. I use stable isotope geochemistry of hydrothermally altered rocks to make inferences about the nature of hydrothermal fluids. My advisor Dr. Ilya Bindeman and I are trying to relate hydrothermal alteration and early planetary events such as Paleoproterozoic snowball Earth glaciations and the Great Oxidation Event. In my research I measure δ18O, δ17O and δD in silicates using gas source mass spectrometer with laser-fluorination line and high-temperature elemental converter (TC/EA) available in our lab.
