Biography

Maria Isabel Rivera (Ph.D. 2019)

Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Universidad de Concepción, Chile.

Additional Degrees: Bachelor of Architecture, University of Concepcion, Chile. Master of Architecture, University of Washington, USA.

Advisor: Alison Kwok, Ph.D.

Research Interests: Isabel's research focused on indoor environmental quality in school buildings. She investigated thermal comfort and indoor air quality conditions in naturally ventilated primary schools in Southern Chile. Her study helped better understand the perceptions of children and teachers to the physical classroom conditions and to characterize how indoor environmental quality is related to socioeconomic status, home conditions, and health.
