Scenic Designer
Jerry regularly designs scenery for department productions as well as overseeing the scenic painting and property design areas. Courses taught include Scenic Design, Drawing and Rendering Techniques, Scale Model Construction, Scenic Painting, and Property Design and Construction.
Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Oregon, Jerry designed professionally for theatres in Seattle, Phoenix, and Houston – and most recently for the Oregon Festival of American Music here in Eugene. Previous teaching positions include Arizona State University and Sam Houston State University in Texas.
Jerry’s Scenic Designs have been featured in “Theatre Design and Technology” magazine in 2011 and 2014. In 2008 Jerry received the Faculty Excellence Certificate of Recognition in Scenic Design from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
