I am a PhD candidate and Graduate Teaching Fellow (GTF) in the Department of History at the University of Oregon. I am also a co-founder, Layout Editor, web developer, and regular contributor to the history, medicine, and gender blog Nursing Clio. My primary research focuses on medical and cultural history in the 20th-century United States. I focus specifically on genetics, reproduction, and disability. Prior to joining the department I was a research associate and a developer at the Center for History and New Media, at George Mason University, where I worked in education and new media on two Teaching American History grants and other projects.

I earned a MA in history from the University of Oregon in 2012. I earned a BA in history, and licensed to teach history and the social sciences at the secondary level, at the University of Mary Washington, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I completed my undergraduate thesis on race and the eugenics movement and 1924 Racial Integrity Act in Virginia.

My primary research interests center on American medical history, focusing on gender, reproduction, and disability the twentieth century. I am also drawn to questions and issues in history education, digital humanities, and public history.
