Biography

Amanda grew up in the small town of Sandpoint, Idaho. As a first generation college student, she earned both her Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Foundations and her Master’s in Special Education, at our own University of Oregon. After graduation, she worked at the UO in the Physical Education and Recreation Department for six years as the Coordinator of Business Operations. In this position she oversaw the management of membership recruitment and sales, coordinated all programs and services registration and sales, and managed access and class registration. She oversaw 15-20 student employees at a time and dedicated much of her time to student development programs. She has spent the last two years working at Lane Community College in the Center for Accessible Resources as the Lead Administrative Coordinator. She provided executive assistance to the Associate Dean for Accessibility and Student Support, managed the department’s annual $1.5 million operating budget, helped lead department planning and assisted in project management including strategic planning, data gathering, and report generation. She also facilitated bimonthly payroll for 30 staff, planned travel arrangements, oversaw all equipment and software, and lead the front desk and accommodation request desk areas and staff. Amanda is excited to return to UO, to continue her career in Higher Education, and to come full circle and return to the College of Education. When she isn’t working, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, being active, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
