Professor Pascoe earned her B.A. in Sociology from Brandeis University in 1996 and Ph.D. in Sociology from University of California - Berkeley in 2006. She trained as a post-doctoral fellow at UC Berkeley's Institute for the Study of Social Change from 2006-2008 and then took a position in the sociology department at Colorado College from 2008-2013. Her research focuses on gender, youth, homophobia, sexuality and new media. Specifically she has investigated the contemporary relationships between homophobia and adolescent masculinity, young people's use of new media in their friendship and romance practices as well as and online eating disorder communities.
