Statement

David A. Martin Jr. graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2009 with a BS in sociology. He received his MS in sociology from the UO in 2011. His masters research examined the impact of mobile Internet access on U.S. income inequality. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate (ABD) and is working on his dissertation. His doctoral research and teaching interests involve the synthesis of the study of race and ethnicity with various strands of cultural sociology, information and communication technology (ICT) studies, and both qualitative and quantitative methods. Specifically, his doctoral research examines how the uses of ICTs impact the racial identity formation processes of African American young adults.
