Biography

Elizabeth has been with the UO Department of Sociology since 2010.  As Academic Advisor she is often the first point of contact for prospective and current students who have questions regarding the major, the department or their current academic status.

Elizabeth assists students in advising by providing the following services:

-- Assistance in navigating University general education requirements
-- Clarification of requirements for the Sociology major/minor
-- Review of Degree Guides to check for progress toward degree completion and/or graduation readiness
-- Course selection and schedule building
-- Any other academic issues that students may be facing

When appropriate, students may also be referred to Sociology faculty, the Registrar's office, or other UO departments for further assistance.  Students seeking career advice and internships may be referred to Mr. Bill Sherman, Director of Career and Advising Services, room 405 PLC.

In addition to academic advising Elizabeth can help students with adding a sociology major or minor, registering for individualized study courses, understanding the class schedule, obtaining copies of sociology syllabi from past terms, and understanding the procedures for spring graduation.
