Research

Dr. McKechnie is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada postdoctoral fellowship holder at the University of Oregon. He is collaborating with Dr. Madonna Moss on the zooarchaeology of the Pacific Northwest Coast fisheries and dogs. He is a specialist in coastal zooarchaeology and historical ecology and is particularly interested in these issues in relation to Indigenous peoples in the Pacific Northwest. He is also keen on archaeological cartography and visualization, and digital zooarchaeological techniques and technologies.
