Profile

Jacqlyn is a PhD candidate in Dr. Andy Karduna's lab. Her current research focuses on understanding how biological sex and chronic pain influence sensory and motor control across the upper extremity.  Prior to pursuing her doctorate, Jacqlyn earned her BS in exercise science from Fresno State and MS in human physiology from the University of Oregon. 

While attending graduate school within the department of human physiology,  Jacqlyn has had the opportunity to serve in a number of teaching roles and engage in discussions about the best practices of teaching. In addition to serving as the donor body laboratory preparator and teaching assistant coordinator for the last three years, Jacqlyn has also taught lecture and laboratory courses in gross dissection, biomechanics, nutrition, and anatomy and physiology.

Originally from a rural town in California, Jacqlyn’s love for the outdoors was fostered at a young age;  In her spare time Jacqlyn enjoys running with her dog, camping, water sports, and helping at her in-laws’ farm.
