Statement

Kristi is a Scientific Software Consultant working in the area of data visualization. Her responsibilities include facilitating and furthering research by helping researchers better understand and analyze their data through visual representations. In addition to serving as a visualization expert to the University, she is currently pursuing her own research focused on methods for improving visualization techniques by adding qualitative information concerning uncertainties present throughout the entire scientific pipeline. This work includes translating the semantic meaning of statistical measures of uncertainty, error, and confidence levels into visual metaphors. Before joining CASIT, Kristi was working as a Research Scientist at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute at the University of Utah. She received her Phd from the University of Utah in Computer Science and her BS in computer Science and Fine Arts from the University of Oregon.
