Profile

My name is Michelle Alexander and my focus in Sociology is focused on Games, New Media, and Play generally.  My Master's Paper was an analysis of cross-genre citation in Star Trek fanfiction.  My current project is "Roles of the Dice: Community and Play in Role playing Games."  Using ethnographic methods and content analysis I explore how players interact with the source material structure and gather to play. During my time at Univeristy of Oregon I have been trained in multiple forms of data gather an analytics including Social Networks, Statistics, Mixed Methods, and Ethnography.  

                I live with my partner in Springfield, OR and we are the proud parents of a fractious Baby Kitty (the Elder) who is the most adorable cat to send a vet to Urgent Care I have ever seen.  We have also welcome the TroubleTwins Kodo and Podo into our home as quaren-kittens.
