Statement

I am a doctoral candidate whose current research involves homeless villages and the impact of the “village model” on local responses to homelessness, as well as on discourses related to poverty, housing, and criminalization of homelessness.  My masters work, titled “Upholding Leadership Convictions, Developing Dependence Upon Leadership:

Persistence in a Changing Social Movement Organization,” examined a case of member persistence in an organization that moved from overtly political to overtly religious.  My main research interests are: social stratification; homelessness and urban poverty; social movements; teaching sociology; and qualitative sociology.
