Statement

My research interests lie primarily in economic inequality, public policy, and education. Much of my research focuses on the role of the government in equalizing opportunity and aiding mobility.  My master’s paper examines the effect of social welfare programs on the educational attainment of disadvantaged parents using data from the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study.  I am working with Ellen Scott on a research project that examines the employment and childcare experiences of parents with disabled children.  I am also interested in research methodology.  I have been a teaching assistant for several undergraduate research methods classes.
