Statement

As a 5th year Phd Candidate I have been conducting biomedical research for eight years. Using an integrative whole-body approach, my current research is attempting to elucidate the mechanisms that control skeletal muscle blood flow and contribute to microvascular remodeling during the recovery from exercise. The long term goal of this research is to demonstrate that the post-exercise milieu is a valuable therapeutic target to improve vascular health in humans, particularly those who suffer from chronic diseases such as hypertension and peripheral arterial disease.
