Biography

Ali Emami's research focuses on assessing factors affecting Oregon's economic development and monitoring the competitiveness of different industries in Oregon and Pacific Northwest economies. He has analyzed, published, and presented articles on trade and markets, resource management, and impacts of industries on regional economies.

Currently, he is a principal investigator for several cooperative research projects with USDA concerned with: the Oregon agriculture database; the Oregon agricultural economic growth assessment model; global competitiveness of Oregon's agricultural products; the Pacific economies database; food demand patterns over changing levels of economic development in Pacific economies; China's economic growth and consumption patterns; impacts of foreign direct investments on the United States; and Oregon's economic growth.
