Advising Philosophy: As a member of the advising team in the CHC, I strive to act in allyship and recognize that social justice work is a lifelong commitment which requires ongoing actions towards system level change. Being a bicultural/bilingual Latina and first-generation immigrant, I have been confronted by structural challenges that keep many people from underserved/underrepresented groups from accessing resources and opportunities such as higher education. I know the significant impact that effective advising and mentorship can have and feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work with students every day to support their academic and career goals.

B.A., Sociology and Spanish, University of Oregon, 2013

Dulce worked as an academic advisor for the Office of Academic Advising at the University of Oregon for almost six years before joining the Clark Honors College community in 2021. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Spanish, and a master’s degree in Conflict and Dispute Resolution from the UO. As Second-Year Advisor, Dulce is the point person for advising issues involving career readiness. She collaborates with campus partners and CHC community to serve second-year students and provide programming, outreach, advising, and other resources for CHC students concerning career advising support, internships, graduate/professional school preparation, dual degree partnerships, and other areas related to student success and pre-professional development. Her campus involvement includes being a member of the Latinx Scholars ARC Stakeholder Group and the Steering Committee of the Dreamers Working Group on campus. Outside of work, Dulce enjoys traveling, dancing, and keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
