JJ joined the UO Motion Analysis Laboratory in 2012 after completing his Master of Athletic Training (MAT) degree at Saint Louis University. JJ is a doctoral student and plans to focus his dissertation on preventing and treating overuse injuries in runners. He is particularly interested in how muscle strength imbalances affect running biomechanics and injury rates.
In addition to being a certified athletic trainer (ATC), JJ is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). His personal interests include running, camping, hiking, and cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams.
