Biography

Larry graduated with a BS in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1982, and with a JD from Creighton University in 1986. He has worked at the State Accident Insurance Fund (SAIF) since 1989 and has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1986, specializing in workers’ compensation since that time. Prior to his work at SAIF, Larry worked at Bottini, Bottini & Lehner, and at Stoel Rives Boley Jones & Grey. Larry has contributed to the Oregon State Bar’s Workers’ Compensation CLE handbook in 2000 and 2008. He has been a speaker on several occasions concerning worker’s compensation matters in several settings. He was a speaker at the Workers’ Compensation Section annual meeting at Salishan in 2010 and 2011. He also presented “How to Try a Workers’ Compensation Case” before the Oregon State Bar in November 2011. In September 2015, he was a speaker at Oregon Law Institute through Northwestern School of Law on the Future of Workers’ Compensation. Larry has been a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section’s Going Forward Committee since 2011. In 2015, Larry was awarded the Workers’ Compensation Section Professionalism and Service Award. In September 2016, he chaired and presented Effective and Ethical Communication in Workers’ Compensation Matters before the Oregon State Bar. Away from work, Larry has been happily married to his wife Lynn for over 30 years with 3 grown children; Emily, Megan and Eric.  In addition, he enjoys travel, golf, skiing and is an avid fan of Nebraska football and the Portland Trailblazers.
