Biography

Learon John Bird graduated from the University of Washington in 2006 with a degree in business administration, with a dual emphasis in finance and accounting. From there, he attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School. After graduating in 2009, Learon began his legal practice in Wilmington, Delaware, where he handled litigation matters involving finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate formation, bankruptcy, and employment.

Since returning to the Pacific Northwest, Learon spent several years acting as an expert witness and handling matters involving SEC regulatory actions, FINRA arbitrations, Federal and State litigation, and internal investigations while associated with the Bates Group. He was a member of the City of Portland’s Debt Management Division, which manages the City’s $3.1B debt portfolio. He now is an Associate at the Portland branch of Jordan Ramis.

Learon teaches Negotiations and Business Associations at the UO Portland campus.
