Biography

Marissa Siegel has served as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings including, public schools, private schools, in-home, and private practice. She now owns her own pediatric private practice, Rising Star Speech and Language Services.  She also serves as a supervisor at the University of Oregon.

Marissa Siegel is best known for her literary contributions. Her children’s book, Sammy Goes to Speech, is for families new to working with a speech-language pathologist. She also runs a popular blog in partnership with Roanoke Valley Family Magazine. Her posts educate and highlight areas of communication, as well as gives tips for local families working on communication skills at home.

She has served as a supervisor and mentor to both undergraduate and graduate clinicians and interns. She focuses solely on early intervention, preschool-aged, and school-aged clients. Currently, she supervises student clinicians in the school-aged clinic.
