• Ian Potter Foundation Visiting Fellow, Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia, 2019.
• One of 75 authors chosen for writing the most influential articles (out of 3500+ articles) in Public Administration Review’s 75-year history. The article chosen, “Citizen Participation in Decision Making: Is it Worth the Effort?” was published in 2004 and co-authored by John Stansbury. Awarded March 2015 at the American Society for Public Administration annual conference.
