Sonia de Laforcade specializes in Latin American and global modern and contemporary art. Her research attends to interdisciplinary media practices, transnational connections between the Americas and Europe, and histories of criticism, museums, and pedagogy. She is currently working on a book based on her dissertation, which theorizes slide projection as a medium of artistic and pedagogical experimentation in Brazil. Upcoming article-length projects address the book in contemporary art, histories of conservation, and fieldwork methods. Before coming to UO, she earned her PhD from Princeton University.
